You are responsible for technical appraisals and assessment support work in determining the value of land and improvements for all types of assessable property. You respond to inquiries and appeals as well as maintain relevant documentation to process and defend assessments. You conduct annual and supplementary inspections of business revitalization zones, inspect real property and calculate the assessment value of all property types.
Our ideal candidate
- You have demonstrated ability to analyze, create and explain a wide range of complex mathematical calculations when preparing assessment valuation models.
- You understand and interpret the application of current assessment techniques and procedures.
- You understand and interpret the application of the three approaches to value for non-residential and multi-family using current assessment techniques and procedures.
Qualifications
- You have completed a two (2) year post-secondary diploma In property assessment or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- You have four years of previous assessment experience.
- You possess non-residential assessment calculation experience
- You are a member of an Accredited Municipal Assessor of Alberta (AMAA) or an Accredited Appraiser with the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI)
- You are expected to participate in the Assessment Recertification Program to maintain accreditation.
- Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
