Administrative Assistant – Family & Community Support Services (FCSS)

Summary

Athabasca County Family & Community Support Services Program is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time permanent position.

FCSS provides a wide range of voluntary services designed to promote individual, family and community wellness. The Administrative Assistant is the first point of contact for those accessing our services and therefore plays a key role in our organization. The successful candidate will be required to submit Criminal Record and Children’s Services Intervention Record Checks prior to commencing employment.

The current annual salary range for this position is $55,911.50 – $69,933.50.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, professional reception to the public.
  • Answer a multi-line telephone system and transfer calls to the appropriate program or person.
  • Ensure doors are locked and unlocked following designated office hours (a.m. and p.m.)
  • Receive, sort and distribute the daily mail and deliveries.
  • Order and maintain office supplies.
  • Manage petty cash, assist with issuing cash receipts and transfer program funds to County as required.
  • Format the FCSS Annual Report and Aspen View Public Schools Interim and Annual Reports.
  • Prepare miscellaneous correspondence and provide assistance to other programs as required.
  • Provide support to the Seniors’ Advocate Program, including assisting with completing provincial and federal government forms, and planning of the Annual Seniors’ Symposiums.
  • Maintain professionalism, including sensitivity to confidential information and documentation.
  • Perform general office duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, word processing, spread sheets and power point presentation development.
  • Prepare monthly billing for the Meals on Wheels program, maintain regular contact with Pleasant Valley Lodge and Wildrose Villa, and assist with Volunteer Recognition/Appreciation.
  • Complete month end reports as required.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in an office environment and/or formal office-related training and/or education.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, publisher) and CANVA preferred.
  • Criminal Record (Vulnerable Population) and CFS Intervention Record checks required.
