At RMA Insurance, we want to recognize the outstanding efforts of those in our communities when it comes to wildfire awareness and mitigation.
As we continue to help strengthen rural Alberta, we understand the importance of resilient lands that support and drive the province.
Through our commitment to these communities, we are pleased to announce a call for applications for the second annual RMA Insurance Community Wildfire Resilience Award.
Any community in Alberta is eligible to win the RMA Insurance Community Wildfire Resilience Award. To qualify, you must:
RMA Insurance members: As part of this recognition, the successful recipient will receive a minimum of $5,000 in Risk Pro credits. Any additional amount will be reflected as the pro-rated return of their wildfire rating for the current policy term.
All other participants: As part of this recognition, the successful recipient will receive a $5,000 grant to be used towards FireSmart™ initiatives.
RMA Insurance is excited to partner with FireSmart™ Alberta in launching the FireSmart™ Alberta Community Scorecard. This new provincially recognized tool provides communities with resources to help assess their wildfire preparedness, review priorities, and track progress over time.
The RMA Insurance team has been dedicating many hours to help FireSmart™ Alberta roll out this project, which is unique to Alberta. The team will also receive training from FireSmart™ and help support our members in utilizing the Scorecard.
To get started using the Scorecard, sign up for an information session through FireSmart™ Alberta to learn more about the program. Once you complete an information session, they will grant you access to the Scorecard portal, and you can attend a training session to get up to speed on the platform. From there, you can complete your community’s Scorecard directly in the application. Once your Scorecard is complete, return to this page to submit your application for the RMA Insurance Community Wildfire Resilience Award.
