Internal Notes:

The Cumulative Effects Management System, announced in 2007, is an initiative that the Government of Alberta, led by Alberta Environment, is undertaking. It is an effort to evolve the present environmental management system to make sure the cumulative effects of development are considered as part of regular business. The transition to a cumulative effective management system will require integration and discussion with and between government ministries, other governments, industry sectors, municipalities, non-government organizations and all Albertans.  As such, the AAMDC continues to monitor this transition.  The association will use its Collaboration Protocol with Alberta Environment to remain apprised of the situation and advocate on behalf of rural municipalities.
