Preamble:

WHEREAS municipalities would like to continue to have input into establishing the priorities for annual and three-year business plans for construction and rehabilitation programs for the provincial highway system;AND WHEREAS municipalities will be requested to submit their priorities for all provincial highways which will form part of the evaluation process when setting the annual and three-year provincial construction and rehabilitation programs;AND WHEREAS municipalities are concerned that municipal priorities will not be given due consideration with respect to provincial highways with lower traffic counts;

Operative Clause:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties request that the Minister of Alberta Infrastructure categorize provincial highways according to traffic counts so that highways with lower traffic counts may access funding for upgrading and rehabilitation.
