Preamble:
WHEREAS the rising cost of fuel may have detrimental effects on the Alberta economy;AND WHEREAS the provincial government receives additional royalties as crude oil prices rise, which could offset provincial fuel taxes;
Operative Clause:
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties request the Provincial Government to consider a sliding provincial fuel tax, which would decrease as crude oil prices increase.
