Showcasing Your Community at FCM 2026

The City of Edmonton is inviting municipalities in the region to host study or companion tours at next year’s FCM conference.

Edmonton will host the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Annual Conference from June 4 to 7, 2026, Canada’s largest gathering of elected officials, municipal staff, and administrators. With over 2,500 delegates expected, the City of Edmonton is coordinating tour opportunities to showcase innovative projects and unique local experiences and is inviting municipalities in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region to participate.

Tour opportunities include:

  • Study Tours: A direct way to showcase municipal excellence and successes through hands‑on learning experiences for delegates, highlighting innovative practices, local projects, infrastructure, or initiatives.
  • Companion Tours: An opportunity to highlight your community’s culture, history, and attractions through engaging leisure experiences for guests of delegates, showcasing what makes your municipality unique.

Tours should be 1-4 hours in length, accommodate up to 40 participants, and are recommended to be scheduled between 9:00am and 4:00pm on Thursday, June 4, or between 12:00pm and 4:00pm on Friday, June 5. Additional times may also be available during the convention, including Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7. The City will arrange transportation to and from the tour site as well as provide volunteers at the Edmonton Convention Centre to assist with coordination and wayfinding.

Submissions are requested by November 3, 2025 (with some flexibility). A $5,000 contribution is required for study tours, while companion tours may be supported through in-kind sponsorship.

For more information or to submit a proposal, please contact the FCM Project Team at fcm2026@edmonton.ca. The team is happy to schedule a brief call to discuss how your municipality may best participate in a Study or Companion Tour.
