RMA Releases Federal Election Resources for Members

The RMA has developed a Federal Election Party Platform and Member Guide for the 2021 federal election

With the federal election scheduled for September 20, 2021 and campaigning in full swing across Canada, RMA has developed two new resources to help members get familiar with each party’s platform and educate federal candidates on the importance of rural Alberta.

RMA Federal Election Party Platform Guide

As the federal election nears, each of Canada’s major political parties has put forth their vision for how they would lead Canada if elected. Each party platform is below for further reference:

RMA has developed a Federal Election Party Platform Guide, which summarizes the position of all major parties on issues of importance to RMA members. This document does not analyze or critique any of the positions, but simply highlights the areas that are most relevant to rural municipalities to support members in better understanding each party, as well as holding the victorious party accountable for following through on their commitments post-election.

RMA Member Guide to the 2021 Federal Election

The RMA Member Guide to the 2021 Federal Election is intended to help members educate candidates on the importance of rural Alberta as well as the challenges that rural municipalities face. The guide is spilt into the four priority issues identified in RMA’s Federal Election Platform and provides several questions that can be asked to candidates, select RMA position statements, and a brief background for each priority issue.

The RMA is encouraging members to share it with candidates, colleagues, and interested members of the public.
