Resolutions play an important role in guiding RMA’s advocacy approach and position development. As part of RMA’s commitment to consistent member reporting on resolution advocacy, RMA is proud to announce the Resolution Report Series.
This Series will provide brief, regular updates offering members, government, and stakeholders a clear overview of an endorsed resolution. Each report summarizes the current context, the impact on RMA members, and RMA’s positions related to potential solutions under consideration.
The purpose of the series is to provide a concise and accessible snapshot of why a resolution matters to rural municipalities, the concerns identified by members, the issues being evaluated, and the solutions being advanced through RMA’s advocacy. These reports are not intended to be comprehensive or definitive analyses; rather, they serve as a familiar touchpoint that aims to keep members informed of ongoing work and emerging developments.
As RMA launches this ongoing series, the first Resolution Report will highlight Resolution 8‑26S: Equitable Electricity Distribution Pricing Model. This resolution reflects member concerns about significant regional disparities in electricity distribution charges and their impacts on rural affordability, competitiveness, and long‑term growth.
For information on resolutions not featured in the series, please review the RMA Resolutions Database or the RMA Resolutions Status Update, published twice each year with current statuses and developments for all active resolutions.
