At the heart of these updates is our dedicated Claims Team, a group of professionals who bring experience, empathy, and efficiency to every interaction. Whether you’re navigating a complex case or need quick assistance, our team is here to make the process as smooth as possible.

To help you connect with the right person quickly, we’re also sharing our updated Territory Map. This map provides a clear overview of which team member is responsible for each region, ensuring faster response times and a more personalized approach to your needs.

Melissa Ilmer – Lead Adjuster

Melissa Ilmer joined RMA as a Field Adjuster in January 2023 and transitioned to the role of Lead Adjuster in March 2024. With a career in insurance spanning back to 2008, Melissa has worked in many different capacities such as administration, restoration project management, and claims, working directly for an insurance company and as an independent adjuster. She brings a wealth of expertise in adjusting auto, property, and heavy equipment claims. Melissa holds her Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and remains actively involved in the industry, continually expanding her knowledge and skills.

Jim Johnson – Sr. Claims Adjuster

Jim Johnson is a Senior Claims Adjuster based out of Red Deer.  Jim has over 35 years of experience with claims handling in the insurance industry and has been with RMA since August 2022. Jim’s claims expertise includes, but is not limited to, large property and casualty (liability), and he has over 12 years of experience in handling Municipal claims. Jim is a former instructor with the Insurance Institute of Canada and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary. He has acquired a Canadian Risk Management certificate and is a Fellow, Chartered Insurance Professionals with the Insurance Institute of Canada.

Jamie Sabid – Claims Adjuster

Jamie Sabid joined RMA in 2022 and has been working within the insurance industry for over 15 years in a variety of capacities.  His range of insurance knowledge and claims experience includes catastrophic losses, fleet and transportation, environmental remediation, property damage, and commercial claims.   Throughout his career Jamie has worked alongside provincial and federal regulators, environmental agencies, and department ministries on claims across Canada, spanning from Dawson City, Yukon to Moncton, New Brunswick. Jamie enjoys golfing, baseball, and spending time with family and friends, maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Kristen Lewchuk – Claims Adjuster

Kristen Lewchuk began her journey in the insurance industry in 2011. She has adjusted claims as an independent adjuster for Edmonton’s insurance companies, including auto and auto liability claims, accident benefits claims, and minor bodily injury claims. Since 2016, Kristen has specialized in handling claims for Alberta’s municipalities, examining auto, liability, and property losses. Kristen joined RMA in November 2022 as a claims adjuster and is excited to continue serving Alberta’s municipalities, providing guidance and support for all claims-related needs. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her young family and animals, making the most of every moment.

Kurt Acham – Claims Adjuster

Kurt Acham has over 20 years of claims adjusting experience, handling a wide range of property, bodily injury, and liability files. He is currently our field claims representative for Southern Alberta. Kurt’s expertise in the claims process, combined with his deep understanding of the unique challenges in the industry, allows him to effectively serve his clients and provide valuable insights. Outside of his professional life, Kurt enjoys socializing with friends and family and has a passion for hockey. He also loves traveling, often seeking new destinations to explore in his spare time. His well-rounded interests and experiences help him build strong relationships and maintain a balanced approach to work and life.

Pratiti Joshi – Claims Adjuster

Pratiti Joshi joined RMA in May 2024 as a claims adjuster. With over 2 years of experience as an auto claims adjuster and 10 years in customer service, she is skilled at managing auto claims efficiently and delivering tailored solutions to clients. Pratiti is dedicated to providing excellent service and fostering long-lasting client relationships. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her young family, as well as reading and painting.
