Learn About the Solar for Schools Program

MCCAC is hosting a free webinar on their Solar for Schools Program

The Municipal Climate Change Action Centre’s (MCCAC) Solar for Schools Program helps school authorities reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. School authorities can receive funding for up to 50% of project costs for new solar installations on existing or new schools. There are currently five school authorities that have participated in the Solar for Schools Program and MCCAC is looking to support an additional five by January 2021.

MCCAC will be co-hosting a free webinar with the Calgary Board of Education on December 2, 2020 to discuss their experience and how they are benefiting from solar installations at schools. In addition, the webinar will also address:

  • how to install solar at schools,
  • ways to pay for the expenses that are not covered by the rebate, and
  • how students are getting involved.

Registration for the webinar is now open. Please contact MCCAC with questions about this or any other program MCCAC is offering.
