Infrastructure Asset Management Alberta (IAMA) will be hosting its annual Asset Management Summit on October 26 – 27 in Edmonton. Over the past several years, RMA has partnered with IAMA to build municipal capacity in asset management, support sustainable planning and long‑term investment in rural infrastructure, and deliver asset management training, tools, and resources that help rural municipalities plan for the future.
RMA has long advocated for asset management to play a central role in infrastructure funding and planning and continues to advance rural infrastructure and asset management issues through the 2024 Rural Municipal Infrastructure Deficit and 2026 Closing the Gap campaigns. Rural municipalities require ongoing support to build and strengthen asset management capacity, as it encourages data-informed decision-making, informs the strategic use of existing funding, and enables efficient, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure planning, operation, and renewal.
While IAMA’s in-person asset management workshops are an excellent opportunity for members to build on their asset management foundations and connect with asset managers and peers, the two-day Asset Management Summit is IAMA’s premier annual event, where IAMA gets to showcase the extent and breadth of their programming and provide rural municipal professionals with an opportunity to network and collaborate on advancing asset management initiatives in their home municipalities.
This year’s summit will explore emerging trends, real-world municipal case studies, service level planning, best practices, infrastructure investment, and long-term sustainability, and feature presentations from experts, interactive discussions, networking opportunities, and displays from IAMA’s industry sponsors, partners, and exhibitors.
