AHS is hosting an informational webinar regarding their review of helicopter ambulance service
Alberta Health Services (AHS) is conducting a review of helicopter ambulance service, formally known as the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service Review (HEMS). The HEMS review began in November 2019, and the final report is expected to be delivered in September 2020. As RMA members have endorsed resolutions regarding helicopter ambulances, RMA is planning to submit comments on the review. This review is focused on helicopter ambulances and does not include fixed wing air ambulances or search and rescue. The scope of the review includes:
- Standards (for both medical service and aviation)
- Funding models
- Governance
AHS is hosting a webinar for participants to learn about the review and ask questions. There are two sessions available:
- July 16 at 1:00 pm
- July 16 at 7:00 pm
