Focus Group on Agricultural Plastics Recycling

Since 2019, the multi-stakeholder Agricultural Plastics Recycling Group (APRG) has been administering the Alberta Ag-Plastic Recycle It! pilot program to recycle grain bags and twine. In fall 2026, the program is expanding to officially include silage plastic and bale wrap in select regions of the province. Cleanfarms is the pilot program operator and works with over 50 collection partners across the province.

Cleanfarms is inviting a small group of producers to take part in a 75-minute online discussion about agricultural plastics. They’re looking for honest feedback on what producers are doing now and what could work better. This input will help shape future recycling programs in Alberta.

Sessions take place via Zoom on June 24 at 9:00am or June 25 at 9:00am.

RMA encourages its members to notify their local producers to put their names forward by filling out a short survey to see if they’re a fit. Participants selected for the focus group will receive $350.
