Deadline Approaching for Submissions to Energy Efficiency Advisory Panel

To support Alberta’s Climate Leadership Plan, the Government of Alberta announced the establishment of a new provincial agency, Energy Efficiency Alberta, that will promote and support energy efficiency and community energy systems for homes, businesses and communities. Energy Efficiency Alberta will receive an estimated $645 million from carbon levy revenues and will be operational in early 2017.

To provide advice into the formation of the Agency, the Government of Alberta established the Energy Efficiency Advisory Panel. The Panel’s mandate includes engaging with Albertans, Indigenous communities, local governments, and stakeholders to determine the types of programs Energy Efficiency Alberta will deliver in the short- and medium-terms. The Panel will provide its recommendations to be considered as part of the establishment of Energy Efficiency Alberta in its report to the Minister of Environment and Parks later this fall.

discussion document was developed to guide these conversations.

Online submissions are being accepted until September 30, 2016 to energyefficiency@gov.ab.ca. Please note that submissions will be made publicly available.
