The CADRC Plan was developed by the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association
The Alberta Veterinary Medical Association (ABVMA), along with other stakeholders, has developed the Companion Animal Disaster Response Capability Plan (CADRC). The CADRC is designed to help municipalities develop plans to facilitate the rescue and transportation of companion animals during an emergency event. The term “companion animal” in this context refers to animals thought of as pets rather than livestock.
The CADRC provides guidance to municipalities wishing to develop a companion animal emergency response plan covering planning, operational, training, and communications concerns.
