Consultation took place as part of broader Municipal Government Act (MGA) Review
Municipal Affairs continues to consider the input received with respect to COPTER, and any resulting changes to the regulation would take effect no earlier than the 2020 property tax year. As such, Municipal Affairs has confirmed that although a municipality may be considering and processing potential exemptions for the next year, there will be no changes to COPTER for the upcoming 2019 property tax year. Moreover, the current regulation will remain in force as is.
