The webinar will examine the complaint made by Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) related to oil and gas properties in rural municipalities across the province
The Alberta Assessors’ Association and RMRF are hosting a webinar to discuss the complaint filed by CNRL to the Land and Property Rights Tribunal (LPRT), and subsequently appealed to the Court of Queen’s Bench following the LPRT’s decision. The complaint impacts the assessment of oil and gas property in many RMA member municipalities across the province, and is significant in that it addresses the criteria for applying additional depreciation to assessed properties under Schedule D of the Machinery and Equipment Minister’s Guidelines.
The webinar will feature a panel consisting of legal counsel for CNRL, the Provincial Assessor, two municipalities involved in the original case heard by the LPRT, and the Acting Director of Centralized Industrial Property Assessment for the Government of Alberta.
