History Check becomes an Alberta-Wide Heritage & Tourism Mobile App
Friends of Historical Northern Alberta Society (FHNAS) and Impact Tourism work to preserve and promote the history of Alberta. In 2017, FHNAS and Impact Tourism launched the History Check app to show the history and uniqueness of northern Alberta’s smaller and lesser-known regions. FHNAS and Impact Tourism are excited to announce that History Check is now available province-wide!
History Check is an innovative and collaborative project that brings together the resources of municipalities, organizations, Indigenous communities, historical societies, businesses, and non-profits to help promote Alberta and its tourism opportunities.
To celebrate the launch of the province-wide app, FHNAS and Impact Tourism will be hosting events:
- Facebook Live Streams at the Provincial Archives of Alberta on June 21 and 22 from 10:00am – 4:00pm. The public is also welcome to visit the Archives in person. The Archives staff will be available to share information about their services and how to use them for discovering Alberta’s history.
- Facebook Live streams with Executive Director of FHNAS Shelia Willis and co-hosts who will be sharing information on Alberta communities, attractions, and Alberta history throughout the day on June 21 – 23.
