Alberta Police Interim Advisory Board Releases Policing Priorities Report

The report fulfills two of the interim board’s deliverables as directed by the Minister of Justice and Solicitor General

The Alberta Interim Police Advisory Board, which consists of representatives from RMA, AUMA, and the Alberta Association of Police Governance, has submitted a policing priorities report to the Government of Alberta and RCMP “K” Division. The intent of the report is to provide municipal input into the development of provincial police business planning priorities and multi-year capital plan development, as directed in the Alberta Interim Police Advisory Board’s terms of reference.

The interim board will now shift its focus to completing its other mandates related to developing the governance structure and processes (including scope, recruitment, board size and structure, etc.) for the operational board, which will take over from the interim board upon the completion of their term at the end of November 2021. RMA will inform members of upcoming opportunities to provide input to the interim board.
