Alberta Municipal Affairs Seeking Arbitrators and Mediators

Alberta Municipal Affairs is currently expanding its roster of private sector mediators, arbitrators, and mediation/arbitration practitioners.

Alberta Municipal Affairs’ Municipal Dispute Resolution initiative offers municipalities the opportunity to engage qualified mediators, arbitrators, and practitioners to resolve intermunicipal disputes and those arising from negotiations related to Intermunicipal Collaboration Frameworks (ICFs). The roster is managed by Alberta Municipal Affairs with the support of an advisory committee that includes representatives from the RMA, Alberta Municipalities (ABmunis), the Local Government Administration Association of Alberta (LGAA), the Alberta Rural Municipal Administrators’ Association (ARMAA), the Association of Summer Villages of Alberta (ASVA), the Canadian Bar Association (Municipal Division), and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Alberta.

To apply, candidates can submit their application form in addition to emailing their resumes to municipalcollaboration@gov.ab.ca. Applications are being accepted until April 13, 2025.

For more information about the Municipal Dispute Resolution initiative, the rosters, and the application criteria and process, please visit the Government of Alberta’s website or email municipalcollaboration@gov.ab.ca.
