Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute (ABMI) launches app: NatureLynx!

Whether you’re already an avid citizen, scientist, or simply love getting outside to explore, get ready to Capture Your Curiosity with NatureLynx. The app will help connect people and nature by having pictures of Alberta’s amazing biodiversity shared them with others, and also having the photos verified by the ABMI’s species experts. The app allows you to join groups around shared interests, or tackle biodiversity challenges by participating in Missions. You can also invite others to help answer your questions about Alberta’s natural world or help them answer theirs. Beyond being an exciting and free education tool, it also fosters engagement and growth. NatureLynx encourages users to network and mobilize their efforts, both socially and scientifically. Want to know what species of birds have been found in a certain park? Or maybe you’re a naturalist group looking to host your first bioblitz, and use the resulting info to plan your future activities? NatureLynx has you covered.

Increasing public participation in scientific inquiry builds awareness, expertise, and leadership. NatureLynx is about fun, about getting involved in the scientific process, and about helping to improve our collective understanding of Alberta’s amazing biodiversity. Download the app and get started at https://naturelynx.ca/.
