Utility Operator

Starland County is seeking a permanent, full time, energetic, qualified Utility Operator to join our team. The Utility Operator is responsible for performing a variety of construction, repair, installation and maintenance activities in support of water and wastewater systems, operating a variety of equipment and tools related to maintenance and repair activities, and performing related duties as assigned.

The successful applicant will be required to work a 40 hour work week with some on call duties after regular working hours. A competitive salary and excellent benefits package is available. Key Responsibilities Include:

The job duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Water main maintenance and repairs

Collection of treated water samples and meter reads

Operating equipment including back hoe, excavators and loaders

Use of line locating and detection equipment

Irrigation equipment and maintenance

Requirements:

Having completed the Class 1 Water and Wastewater Operations Certificate is a preferred qualification for this position. The successful applicant will have a minimum of three (3) years of related experience. The Utility Operator must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license with a preferred Class 3 license.
