A high school diploma and certification in Water Distribution (Level II), Wastewater Collection (Level II), Wastewater Treatment (Level I) is required. Three (3) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of municipal water, wastewater, and solid waste infrastructure is required. Completion of Confined Space Entry and Monitor, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Standard First Aid, Ground Disturbance for Supervisors, and hydrogen sulfide (H2S Alive) courses is required. Experience working with SCADA and Geographic Information System, a Water and wastewater technician diploma and training and/or certification in solid waste management is an asset.
Must be able to effectively communicate complex technical information and provide consistent, friendly, professional customer service to internal and external customers in the face of ongoing change, regular interruptions and the pressure of deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Must be able to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
A Class 5 Alberta Driver’s license is required.
