To be considered for the position, the suitable candidate must possess the following skills & criteria:
- Completion of grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- EOCP Operator Certification in Water Distribution and/or Wastewater Collection (Level I or higher preferred), or demonstrated ability and commitment to complete required certification training
- Ability to perform manual labour, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Aptitude to work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to drive extensively throughout our region to our many sites
About the Duties (to include, but not limited to)
- Operate and maintain equipment in a Level 2 Distribution, Level 1 Wastewater Treatment system and Level 1 Wastewater Collection system
- Collect and analyze water samples
- Record in the necessary reports and daily logs
- Water meter reading, replacement and repair
- Assist with the flushing of water and sewer lines, repair of fire hydrants and water mains
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and SCADA systems would be an asset
- Experience in construction, municipal operations or other manual labour industries and familiarity with equipment such as rubber tired backhoes.
Experience in a related discipline would be ideal; however, if you are a conscientious, driven individual, we are willing to provide training.
Hours of Work
7:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday to Friday, with requirement to be ‘on-call’ on a rotational basis (normally one in four weekends).
