Qualifications and Skills:
- Chartered Professional Accounting designation
- Post-secondary degree with a minimum of seven years of relevant post-designation experience, or diploma with a minimum of nine years of relevant post-designation experience
- Strong understanding of relevant municipal and provincial legislation, public sector practices and government operations, including the ability to develop and implement policies in compliance with legislation
- Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the CPA Handbook, Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and the Municipal Government Act
- Extensive knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting techniques
- Demonstrated expertise in advising and coaching decision-makers in strategic financial and business planning, and in delivering financial management services
- Proficiency in integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Oracle Cloud preferred, with strong skills in MS365
