Lac Ste. Anne County is seeking a qualified Marketing and Communications Assistant to join the Corporate Services Department. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, this position is responsible for supporting the functional areas of marketing, communications, and economic development.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Performing tasks related to Lac Ste. Anne County’s social media, including graphic design, content development, posting and monitoring.
Responsible for weekly newsletter composition and design.
Responding to internal requests for marketing and communications support.
Assisting with economic development research and initiatives, to support goals and objectives of the County.
Gathering internal information to strengthen initiatives.
Supporting in the coordination of County events, as related to relevant functional areas.
Participating in departmental meetings; gathering information, as required.
Assisting in the grant application process, including research and coordination.
Providing support in proposal research for business and economic development initiatives.
Assisting the Marketing and Communications Manager with other duties, as assigned.
Post-secondary education in a related field (Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Economics).
Minimum of 2-3 years relevant and related experience in marketing, tourism, and/or cultural planning. Experience in a rural municipality is preferred.
Strong customer relation skills and creativity, with the ability to work with limited supervision and identify new opportunities, are required.
Must possess and maintain a valid Alberta Operator’s License.
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with a preference for Adobe Creative Suite, social media software, and website editing experience.
Photography and videography skills considered an asset.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical information.
Must possess and apply honesty, equality, diplomacy, and cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Attention to detail, solid problem solving, and advanced analytical and research skills.
Strong initiative and leadership qualities.
Preference will be given to current or prior County residents who have a clear understanding of the current businesses, layout, and attributes of the area.
