Who you are?
You are a proactive, forward-thinking “systems thinker” who can manage complex community relationships and navigate competing, urgent demands with high political acumen. You bring:
- A technical diploma or degree in Business Administration, Facility Management, Property Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in property and facility management, with specific, proven expertise in lease creation and negotiation, contract procurement, space planning, and asset management.
- A baseline strength in either advanced commercial lease negotiations or long-term facilities master planning, with a strong professional capacity and desire to learn the secondary discipline.
- At least two (2) years of direct experience managing, supervising, and coaching professional full-time staff.
- Advanced communication, mediation, and report-writing skills, with the ability to confidently present complex data, budgets, and recommendations to Council and executive committees.
- Strong financial management capabilities, with a history of maintaining strict expenditure controls over multi-million-dollar capital and operating budgets.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a strong interest in learning specialized Facilities Asset Management Software.
A certification as a Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or eligibility for certification with the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) would be considered a significant asset.
