Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Engineering & Infrastructure, this position is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall management of key operational functions within the Public Works Department. The Manager of Public Works oversees all areas of Public Works operations, ensuring the efficient, effective, and compliant delivery of municipal services.

The role is accountable for the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of a wide range of public works programs and infrastructure projects, including those delivered through contracted services. The Manager ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday.  Evening, weekend and holidays work may apply.

Requirements

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in a public works, construction or environmental services environment
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisor role
  • Basic Emergency Management & Incident Command System 100, 200
  • Clean Class 5 Alberta driver’s license

Desired

  • Alberta Environment Level I Water distribution and Level I Wastewater collection and treatment certification
  • Familiarity with Sensus Analytics and Advanced Metering Infrastructure
  • Public Works Supervisor certification from Alberta Public Works Association
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.ET) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
