Key Responsibilities Include:
As a key member of the administration team, the position will be responsible for the progressive implementation of planning and development services for the municipal district.
Responsibilities:
- Appointed as the subdivision and development authority for the Municipal District; responsible for the implementation of related processes and approvals
- Provides advice and guidance to the public and to municipal district departments
- Provides advice and recommendations on municipal district planning legislation
- Leads specialized planning and development projects
- Coordinates the implementation of planning related approvals with services implementation in conjunction with infrastructure departments
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in planning or related discipline
- Two years of experience in a municipal setting
- Knowledge of standard planning, building and subdivision procedures and methods, local land use plans, bylaws, policies, and procedures
- Ability to interpret the MD’s Land Use Bylaw, statutory plans, the Municipal Government Act and other provincial legislation
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion and integrity
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Self-motivated with excellent public relation, written, and organizational skills
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) would be a definite asset
- Possess valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Effective written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
