The Municipal District of Ranchland No. 66 is one of the most historic and picturesque areas in southern Alberta. Encompassing nearly 2,500 km, the municipality consist of forest reserves, protected areas, creeks, streams and open rangeland. Much of the land in the municipality is unbroken and not accessible by roads, which provides a distinct form of environmental conservation. Our Municipal shop and Administration Building are located on Highway 22 near Chain Lakes Provincial Park requiring a commute to work depending on the selected candidate's choice of residence.
Key Responsibilities Include:
The primary duties of this position include:
safe and efficient operation of a Road Grader
maintenance of M.D. of Ranchland roads
replacement and maintenance of signs in assigned areas
maintain municipal equipment to ensure reliability and safety and
other duties that provide challenge and variety
Qualified candidates will have a valid Class 5 license (driver's abstract required with application). Experience operating a road grader for both road maintenance and snow plowing, and the ability to understand township and range road signage is an asset. This position requires heavy lifting as well as long periods in which bending, standing, walking or sitting is required.
