Summary

The County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 is seeking one (1) permanent full-time Light Equipment Operator based out of the Winfield Shop location.  Reporting to the West Operations Foreman, the successful candidate will be required to perform road maintenance and construction work activities involving the operation of various forms of construction equipment, motor vehicles and specialized tools that includes light to medium trucks, skid steer, backhoe, boom truck, packers and hand tools.  Current area of operations will be mainly in the west end of the County, work supporting other areas of the County may be required.

This is a physically demanding position and the candidate will need to be physically fit in order to undertake various activities that include lifting and strenuous work at times. Hours of work are typically a 10-hour with a 30 minute lunch, the workday will commence at 7:00 a.m., or as required.

  • Participate and actively promote the County’s safe work practices and procedures and commit to delivering quality workmanship and efficiencies.

Requirements

Education

  • A minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Possess a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license, with Class 3 preferred, and can provide a clean driver’s abstract.
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
