Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining the Foothills County roads, Hamlets and any other County property as needed, in respect to grass mowing and brush cutting.

Key Responsibilities

Perform mowing of County ditches, Hamlets and other County owned property as needed.
Perform brushing of County right of ways and properties where trees and brush are identified to be removed.
Assist with herbicide application for weed/invasive plants control and manual removal of weeds in summer.
Aid with routine equipment maintenance.
Keep equipment and vehicles clean.
Always adhere to all pertinent safety laws, legislation, policies and operating procedures.
Participate in the on-call rotation when required.
Able to work in a team environment, and/or work independently.
Perform other duties as assigned from time to time as required.

Requirements

Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
Experience with operating chainsaws.
Operating agricultural equipment (ie. tractors) and mowing equipment.
Good communication and written skills.
Ability to interact with the general public in a polite and courteous manner.
Knowledge with equipment maintenance.
Hauling with a trailer and loading and unloading equipment on trailers.

The following are considered assets to be successful in this position.

Q Endorsement.
Pesticide Applicator Licence or Authorized Assistant Licence.
Level 3 Chainsaw Feller Ticket.
