Who you are?
You are a diagnostic pro who thrives on the challenge of “fixing the unfixable” and brings a versatile mechanical background to the table. You have:
- A Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician designation (on-road and off-road preferred), though we will consider Apprentices in their final year.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in the trade, ideally with exposure to the diverse machinery found in a municipal setting.
- Experience maintaining everything from heavy-duty yellow iron to small engines and automotive units.
- A valid Class 3 Driver’s License with airbrake endorsement and the ability to obtain a license for Commercial Vehicle Inspections.
- The communication skills needed to coach apprentices and explain technical findings clearly to different teams.
- The physical and mental resilience required to tackle deep troubleshooting in both the shop and the field.
- The flexibility to thrive in an evolving environment, including comfort with a transition toward shift work to better serve our community.
