Full Time -- 44-hour work week - Monday through Friday

WG Starting Wage - $38.66/hr

Key Responsibilities Include:

The Position:

Participating as a member of the Operational Services staff and working alongside the County’s Fleet Maintenance Team, you are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day services, maintenance, and repair for the entire County fleet of vehicles as well as equipment both large and small. Under the supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Foreman, this candidate will ensure preventative maintenance and emergency activities for all fleet vehicles and is able to operate a variety of equipment used in all areas of operational services. Ability to enhance customer services levels and maintain municipal assets. Promotes and participates in the County safety program and practices.

Requirements:

The Candidate:

CompletionofGrade12orGEDequivalent

Alberta Certified Journeyman HD Mechanic Ticket required– ACVIP Certification an asset

Valid AB Drivers License – Class 3 with air brake endorsement (no more than six (6) demerits)

Valid Outside and Inside Forklift Training Certification

Work independently to perform service, maintenance and repairs

Service oriented personality and proven service oriented skills

Competent working knowledge in the care and use of all tools and equipment common to this position;

Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy, tact and discretion in dealing with requests, complaints and clarification of information;

Ability to use good judgement to interpret, analyze and modify methods and procedures;

Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHIMIS) Certificate and familiarity with sections of the Occupational Health and Safety Act that apply to municipal operations; and

Physical capability to perform the job duties required. Lifting of over 50 lbs and ability to enter and exit equipment/trucks used in County Infrastructure Maintenance activities required.
