Heavy Duty Mechanic

Preform mechanical maintenance and repairs on both light and heavy equipment such as trucks, trailers, loaders, graders, tractors, snowplows, sanders and light-duty vehicles.

• Diagnose electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment problems to determine repairs and parts required to minimize equipment downtime.
• Complete Alberta Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVIP).
• Perform service calls to work site locations, with varying temperature and weather conditions.
• Perform safety and maintenance checks on workshop equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and training on operator maintenance to equipment operators.
• Ensure all required inventory, inspection and repair paperwork is accurately completed in a timely manner.
• Respond to emergency situations any time when required and perform safety responsibilities in conjunction with the County Safety Program.
• Always adhere to all pertinent safety laws, legislation, policies, operating procedures and industry guidelines.
• Participate in the Emergency On-Call program.
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
