Key Responsibilities Include:
Parkland County has a Permanent, Full-time position available for a Geographic Information Systems Analyst. Under the direction of the Manager, Business Solutions the Geographic Information Systems Analyst performs innovative Geographic Information Systems (GIS) programming and application development required to integrate GIS with business systems and broaden web and mobile GIS application functionalities. This position supports, at an advanced level, both internal and external stakeholders by providing technical leadership, spatial analysis, data automation, process design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and application support for the systems and projects related to GIS.
A post-secondary degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography or other related earth sciences discipline is required.
Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience progressive GIS experience is required.
Proven experience designing and implementing spatial applications, mobile applications, web based applications, databases, scripts and models, and supporting associated server software including ESRI ArcGIS Server and FME Server; including a minimum of two years’ experience and fluency in the creation and maintenance of enterprise (SDE) geodatabases and FME Server automations is required.
GISP, ESRI Certification, PMP, or ITIL is considered an asset.
Technical training experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.
Knowledgeable in SQL Server database administration; Python, HTML 5.0, ArcGIS Add-ins; Latitude GepCortex site administrations; Microsoft Office applications & HP large format plotters; Field date collection utilizing GPS technology.
Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.
Rate of Pay: $78,281 to $97,851 per annum.
Hours of Work: 7 hours/day; 35 hours/week
