- A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in property and casualty insurance, including at least five years in a leadership or management role.
- Experience working with local government, public-sector, member-based, or non-profit organizations is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary insurance operations, including underwriting or placement, claims, risk management, compliance, and member service, with the ability to work effectively with corporate finance and other shared-service functions.
- Demonstrated executive leadership, customer and member orientation, strategic and commercial judgment, financial and analytical capability, political acumen, sound decision-making, and a record of delivering measurable results.
- A recognized Canadian insurance designation, such as CIP, FCIP, CAIB, or CRM, is required; an advanced designation is preferred.
- A current Alberta Level 2 General Insurance Agent licence, or eligibility to obtain and maintain the licence within an agreed period, is required.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 and experience using insurance management systems, financial reporting tools, and data-analysis platforms.

Contacts
Works closely with RMA Insurance staff, the Chief Financial Officer and Finance department, other RMA General Managers, members, the RMA Insurance Board of Directors, partners, brokers, underwriters, regulators, and service providers. Provides regular reports and advice to the RMA Insurance Board of Directors and escalates significant matters to the Chief Operating Officer as appropriate.
