The Town of Morinville is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to fill a temporary full‐time Fitness & Wellness Program Coordinator position (term will end on or before September 2022) to join the Community Services team. Reporting to the Community Services Manager, the Fitness & Wellness Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordination, supervision and delivery of all fitness and wellness functions offered at the Morinville Leisure Centre as well as promotion and marketing. The Fitness and Wellness Program Coordinator is responsible for providing a safe, clean and enjoyable facility and programs for the Morinville Leisure Centre members and guests.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Develop a full complement of fitness/wellness registered and drop in programs for all ages (4 seasons).
- Determine performance indicators and measurements of success for programs and maintain records.
- Adapt programs to better serve population requests, special needs and trends.
- Analyze and utilize demographic information, specialty population regional research for program planning trends and new initiatives.
- Hire, orientate, train and evaluate fitness program instructors and facility monitors.
- Quarterly evaluation of programs using on-site visits and participation.
- Conducts seasonal Fitness/Wellness program evaluations and surveys.
- Participate in workplace safety initiatives and meetings.
- Monitors and meets budget targets for program revenue and expenses (monthly, quarterly and annually).
- Comply with all Town policies, work procedures, rules, safety instructions, and relevant directives in the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code.
- Maintain current certification for all Town OH&S, Risk Management and AFLCA programs.
- Assist with other programming and event projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- A degree or diploma in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Recreation or related discipline.
- Minimum of 1 years experience in Fitness/Wellness programming.
- Resistance Training or Personal Training Certification.
- Group Exercise Leadership Certification
- Experience in development and management of a program budget.
- Experience working in a recreation or fitness facility.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR/AED.
- The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check prior to commencement of employment.
Additional Job Information:
Salary Range: Hourly wage range of $38.60 —$46.09 (7 Step Grid). This position is required to work 35 hours per week.
