We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated safety-oriented person to join our team as an Equipment Operator III. The successful candidate is responsible for the competent operation of a Picker Truck and Class 1 Trucks along with truck/trailer equipment hauling and snow plow operation with quality, safety, and efficiency standards. This position is responsible for operation of equipment within predetermined standards of Special Areas polices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Key Duties will include:
1. Operation of a picker truck and related equipment in a safe and professional manner to lift and position equipment and materials. Must be familiar with road and picker regulations and be willing to complete required paperwork following all required safety precautions.
• This includes operating on adverse terrain, in winter operations, and/or near other equipment and power lines
• Recognizes existing and potential hazards and knows how to identify these through conducting a field level pre-job hazard analysis, checking the machine for hazards, and assessing any tasks before start
2. Reporting, equipment services and minor repairs
• Performs mechanical inspections and servicing including controls and operations, completing logbooks, performs maintenance and adjustments, ensures good housekeeping, and performs machine lubrication

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent (GED)
• Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in the operation of a picker truck and Class 1 trucks (for gravel/aggregate material hauling) or combined experience in an operational service-related field. A combination of experience/education will be considered
• Class 1 Operators License with Air Brake Endorsement and experience in the safe and efficient operation of heavy transportation equipment is required
• Competent in the operation of a HIAB articulating Crane model 232ES-5 and PALFINGER
• Competent working knowledge in the care and use of all tools and equipment common to this position
• Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy, tact, and discretion in dealing with requests, complaints, and clarification of information
• Physical capability to perform the job duties required. Lifting of over 50 lbs. and ability to enter and exit equipment/trucks required
• This is a designated safety sensitive position and mandatory pre-employment drug testing will be conducted on all newly hired employees
