Summary

The Municipal District of Ranchland No. 66 is seeking a qualified individual for a part-time Public Works Equipment Operator / General Labourer position. This flexible opportunity may be particularly well-suited to a semi-retired individual looking to remain active and contribute their skills and experience. Work is generally Monday to Friday on an as-needed basis, with shifts of up to 10 hours. Occasional
overtime or weekend work may be required. The position offers approximately 1,000–1,500 hours per year.

Work Location
Based out of the MD of Ranchland Public Works Shop, located approximately 4 km south of Chain Lakes Provincial Park.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
•Perform light-duty labour tasks
•Operate Public Works equipment (training provided)
•Maintain and organize the Public Works shop and yard
•Install and repair municipal signage
•Grass cutting and yard maintenance
•Clean and maintain county vehicles and equipment
•Shovel culverts as required
•Wash bridges and equipment
•Interact professionally with area residents

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience
•Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
•Grade 12 diploma or equivalent (education and experience combination considered)
•Grader, loader, or bobcat experience considered an asset
•Mechanical aptitude considered an asset
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
•Comfortable working in rural and wilderness environments
•Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
•Strong attention to detail and record-keeping
•Excellent verbal and written communication
•Commitment to workplace safety
•Willingness to learn

Working Conditions Physical Environment
Long periods of standing, exposure to elevated noise levels, and medium to heavy physical effort depending on season. Regular workdays may be up to 10 hours with occasional overtime. Some travel may be required.
