Key Responsibilities Include:
Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Services, the CIO provides vision, strategic leadership and advancement of information technology within the City and of the Corporate Information & Technology Department which includes enterprise systems and analytics, and enterprise technology services. This position is responsible for delivering on initiatives and innovative ideas that enable organizational objectives and strategically support the City’s current and future operational needs. The CIO facilitates the City’s IT governance framework and safeguards the planning, implementation and management of IT enterprise systems, infrastructure, services, and policy on behalf of the City of Leduc. The CIO builds collaborative relationships across the organization to ensure that the Corporate Information Technology Department provides innovative, stable, secure and reliable technical support services that will meet current and future needs.
As a key member of the City’s broader senior leadership team, this position is a change management champion for the City of Leduc. The incumbent will collaborate with all levels of internal and external stakeholders involved in, or affected by, the delivery of information technology solutions in support of City programs and services. This requires a passion for innovation, extensive and current knowledge of the information technology industry, proven leadership ability, as well as superior communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. The ability to set appropriate policy and recommend effective use of technology are also crucial competencies required by this role.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or a related field, and a minimum of 10 years of direct IT management experience within a major IT operation with increasing responsibilities for senior management and support of information systems and information technology. Certification in IT governance, project management, organizational change management and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL 4) are desirable. Experience in strategic planning and execution as well as experience in a municipal public sector setting is desirable, specifically in technology and information systems strategy to support business goals.
The successful candidate must be willing to provide a current cleared Criminal Records Check as part of the hiring process.
