Key Responsibilities Include:
The Position:
Reporting to our current Director of Planning and Development this position is responsible for leading, managing, and providing professional planning expertise to complex and politically sensitive planning studies, projects, and assignments. The incumbent is expected to exercise expert independent judgment, initiative and decision-making authority to develop timely solutions to complex files; lead, supervise and mentor staff and work collaboratively with colleagues or consultants with a diverse range of professional training. This individual will provide research into goals and priorities for the department, prepare and present reports as well as make recommendations to council and committee members.

- Completion of a University Degree in planning or a related field; Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and a registered designate in the Alberta Professional Planners Institute (APPI); a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Five to ten (5-10) years of progressively responsible and hands-on planning experience, preferably in a rural municipal environment.

Salary Range: Pay Range - $97,865 to $108,740 starting annual salary - Benefits to start immediately upon hire
