Kara Westerlund has been acclaimed as RMA President for the 2026-2028 term
Following the close of nominations for President at 12:00 p.m. on October 5, 2026, RMA can confirm that Kara Westerlund has been elected by acclamation as President of the RMA Board of Directors for the 2026-2028 term.
Nominations remain open for two additional Board positions that will be filled as part of the 2026 RMA Board elections:
• District 1 Director
• District 4 Director
In accordance with RMA’s staggered nomination deadlines, nominations for both District Director positions will close Monday, October 19, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
Candidates must be duly elected officials of an RMA full member municipality within the district they are seeking to represent. Completed nomination packages must be endorsed by at least two elected representatives of RMA full member municipalities in good standing and submitted electronically to RMA Returning Officer Todd Brand at toddbrand@hotmail.com. Candidates may self-nominate, and electronic signatures are accepted.
