Education and Experience:
• Successful completion of a two (2) year post-secondary program in Risk Management, Public or Business Administration or an insurance-related field such as completion of Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation.
• Completion of the Fellow Charged Insurance Professional (FCIP), considered an asset.
• Five years (5) years direct work experience in an insurance environment, commercial underwriting, property & casualty and automobile claims adjusting, or general insurance brokerage function.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Familiarity with auto, property, boiler and machinery and commercial general liability lines of insurance coverage.
• Insurance adjusting techniques and applicable laws.
• Common law and statutes (Motor Vehicle Act, Municipal Government Act, Occupiers Liability Act, Criminal Code, etc.) affecting operations of a municipality.
• Risk and insurance management principles and practices, as they apply to risk and insurance management programs and business continuity.
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions while ensuring goals of the municipality are met.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to operate diplomatically and tactfully.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Valid Alberta class 5 driver’s license is required.
• Thorough working knowledge of computers and Microsoft products.

Work Schedule: This permanent full-time position entails a 35-hour work week. Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 4:30, with some overtime as required to meet operational needs.
Pay Rate: $57.79 – $67.99
