The Athabasca County Family & Community Support Services Program is currently accepting applications for a full-time Family Wellness Worker. This is a term position to June 30, 2028, with a possible extension dependent on funding. This Worker will provide services in Athabasca and surrounding area as part of the Northern Lakes Family Resource Network.
The Family Wellness Program is a voluntary, community-based program that supports individuals and families facing multiple risk factors that could escalate without support. The Family Wellness Worker assists families and youth develop skills to maintain positive relationships and a safe, healthy home environment while helping navigate community resources.
The Family Wellness Worker provides solution-focused and client-centered support services for youth and families experiencing multiple risk factors that may escalate without support. Services are designed to address challenges and achieve goals by improving the knowledge and skills required to build positive relationships and maintain a safe and healthy home environment. The Worker uses a variety of evidence-informed/supported and best practice approaches, including one-to one and targeted group work to assist clients in meeting their goals. The Family Wellness Worker also supports clients in navigating appropriate community resources and services.
