The Opportunity
Every home and business depends on reliable utility services. As the Finance Clerk- Utilities, you will support utility operations by assisting customers with their accounts, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring billing and account information is processed accurately and efficiently. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound administrative skills, and a commitment to customer service. Working directly with the public, you will help resolve inquiries, manage account information, and support the delivery of essential services that our community depends on every day. The Finance Clerk- Utilities provides exemplary customer service to vendors, City Staff and outside agencies and processes the City’s accounts receivable and accounts payable requests. Responsibilities include, receiving payments, data entry and filing, collecting, validating and processing accounts receivable/accounts payable transactions; prepares journal entries and monthly reconciliation of accounts payable ledger, customer accounts, tax, trade and business accounts; prepares trade and business licence invoices; process month end reports; and provides information to the public regarding utilities, property tax, business and animal licencing.
