You are an analytical, organized, and approachable professional who understands that accuracy builds organizational trust. You thrive on precise details and bring:
- A Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- A professional certification in payroll (PCP and/or PLP) from the National Payroll Institute.
- A minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in full-cycle payroll processing, benefits administration, or dedicated payroll accounting within a corporate environment.
- Strong working knowledge of provincial payroll regulations, tax laws, Alberta Employment Standards, and general benefits administration practices.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and software, with direct experience navigating Workday is considered a significant asset.
- Strong intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, with experience utilizing pivot tables and formulas like VLOOKUP to analyze data and resolve discrepancies.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, giving you the ability to explain complex deductions or pay frameworks clearly.
- A high degree of independent judgment, problem-solving capabilities, and a strict commitment to maintaining total confidentiality regarding sensitive employee compensation data.
An established background working within a unionized or municipal environment, would be considered a significant asset.
