The successful candidate will possess a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental, Water Resources or another Municipal Services related field. The incumbent will be a member (or be eligible for membership) in the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET). A Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License is required for this position. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the design, construction, or operation of municipal infrastructure including extensive use of digital design, mapping, and/or asset management tools and experience in reading, interpreting, or drafting of engineering drawings is required. Alternatively, two (2) years of experience in planning/development including involvement in engineering design and development administration is required. A good technical understanding of how municipal infrastructure systems are designed, constructed and operated is necessary. The Technologist must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and legal documents. Good technical skills with AutoCAD, GIS and other computer software are needed, as well as an aptitude for logical problem solving. A current five (5) year Driver’s Abstract will be required at the time of interview.
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Duration: June 29, 2026 – January 3, 2028 (with the possibility of extension)
