The Town of Spirit River is seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to lead municipal operations and support the community’s continued growth and success.
Working closely with Council, the CAO will play a key role in advancing economic development, strengthening regional partnerships, and supporting a positive and effective municipal team while ensuring responsible financial management and long-term fiscal sustainability. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a progressive rural municipality that serves as an important hub in Alberta’s Central Peace Region.
Spirit River is a welcoming rural community of approximately 1,000 residents with strong regional partnerships, numerous recreational facilities, and a high quality of life. The Town plays an important role as a regional service hub and is well positioned for continued growth, investment, and economic development.
Reporting directly to Council, the CAO provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all municipal services in accordance with the Municipal Government Act (MGA) and Council policies.
The successful candidate will continue to build a positive organizational culture that supports staff and the community. The CAO will guide the implementation of Council’s strategic priorities while ensuring efficient and responsible municipal operations.
